SIBEL DAMAR

Hi, I'm Sibel [pronounced "Sih-BELL," not Sybil, though honestly the multiple personalities thing isn't entirely off base].
 

I'm a Turkish-American actor, writer, and director based in New York City. I grew up in the South — and yes, it does come out sometimes. I've been performing in some form or another since before I had the good sense to be nervous about it.
 

ON STAGE

I found my people at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York, where I performed on house teams including Characters Welcome and We Will Slay. I am currently a featured performer on Betty Night — UCB's premier character showcase, and the room where I feel most at home.
 

ON SCREEN

You may have caught me on CBS's FBI or perhaps stumbled across my work from the 2022 ViacomCBS Diversity Comedy Showcase!

My two sketches that year were Moida! She Dunnit — a Mae West-inspired murder mystery in which a woman attempts to turn herself in for a crime she absolutely committed, only to find the police are not particularly interested — and Lesbian Miserables. You can probably figure that one out.
 

ONLINE

I've built a following of 250K+ across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube through original characters, impressions, and sketch comedy that somehow manages to be both deeply personal and broadly ridiculous. My Keira Knightley impression has taken on a life of its own. So has That One Kid: a character I both copyrighted and trademarked because of how popular it became. What drives all of it? An unwavering belief i've always had that I can take my broken heart and make it into something that helps other people heal.
